Wood Pallets and Crates are the primary packaging materials for international shipments around the world. Throughout history destructive insects and other organisms have been carried from one continent to another in wood packaging material.
To combat this problem the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has developed the international regulation — ISPM No. 15 — Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Materials in International Trade. This regulation requires treatments of all solid wood packaging materials for sterilization. Wood Packaging Materials include pallets, skids, crates, wood boxes, dunnage, or any specialized assembled wood packaging unit or structure.
Stafford Inspection & Consulting Services, LLC is accredited under the USDA-APHIS / ALSC Programs for Heat Treatment and Methyl Bromide fumigation certification for Wood Packaging Materials. The Stafford Inspection IPPC-HT or IPPC-MB stamp on your wood packaging materials assures acceptance world-wide wherever the ISPM No 15 standard is enforced.
